As part of our ongoing exploration of the Challenge-Based Learning methodology, we have now concluded the Investigate phase and are moving forward into the Act phase.
To visualize our thought process and approach, we have created a mind map that outlines the key components of our solution. This visual representation highlights the connections between the different aspects of our implementation and how they contribute to a more effective psychological assessment and support system.

Through extensive research and analysis, we have developed a comprehensive solution aimed at improving psychological assessment and support. Our approach is divided into two key implementations: one for psychologists and another for individual consumers.
Solution for Psychologists: Real-Time Insights Interface
To enhance the diagnostic and monitoring capabilities of psychologists, we will develop an advanced interface that provides real-time insights into the psychological state of patients. This interface will display:
Graphical ECG (heartbeat) data to monitor physiological responses.
Emotion classification based on ECG analysis, providing a concise interpretation of the user's emotional state.
Graphical EEG data to assess neural activity.
Emotion classification based on EEG analysis, helping to identify psychological patterns.
Emotion classification from facial analysis, interpreting expressions and micro-expressions.
Emotion classification from tone and speech analysis, detecting sentiment and mood variations.
Text interpretation from EEG waves that reflects what the user intends to express.
Final psychological state/sickness analysis, generated by consolidating the various emotional indicators through an LLM (large language model) or expert AI agent specializing in psychology.
This tool aims to provide psychologists with a holistic, AI-enhanced perspective on their patients' mental states, leading to more accurate diagnoses and tailored therapeutic approaches.
Solution for Consumers: A Virtual Assistant for Psychological Support
In addition to aiding psychologists, we are introducing a mobile application designed to support individual users in assessing and maintaining their psychological well-being. This app will feature a virtual assistant capable of:
Utilizing the smartphone camera to analyze user behavior and facial expressions.
Analyzing the user's tone and voice, providing improved responses and insightful feedback.
Engaging in spoken interaction, rather than text-based communication, for a more natural conversational experience.
Accessing biometric data from wearable devices (such as smartwatches) with user permission, incorporating heartbeat and other physiological signals into the analysis.
This virtual assistant serves as an accessible, AI-driven mental health companion, helping users recognize early signs of distress and guiding them on whether professional psychological intervention may be necessary.
Looking Ahead
By integrating AI-powered insights with psychological expertise, our solutions aim to bridge the gap between mental health diagnostics and everyday accessibility. As we move into the implementation phase, we look forward to refining these solutions and testing their real-world effectiveness. Stay tuned for updates as we progress in the Act phase of our Challenge-Based Learning journey!
